#have I ever discussed my feelings about the different ways nell touches each of them#how she touches Steve—constantly skeptical constantly intellectual—on the forehead#Shirley—angry and sad and desperately in need of gentle affection she can’t accept—gets her face cradled#Theo—for whom touch has done so much damage to her ability to be open—gets a grasping hand#and Luke. Luke her twin her other half. Luke gets grabbed with such strength and such ferocity#Nell doing this one last thing to prove to him she believes in his ability to keep going#her face is serene in every shot except his. for him she feels the pull to stay echoing in her own heart#it’s a twin thing after all#so she fights so much harder to yank him back to reality#it breaks me every time how even in saving them all Nell tailors her action to each sibling specifically (via @novelconcepts
